Competing in the E9 League

Boston Junior Rangers teams compete in the E9 – The Elite 9, one of the most competitive youth hockey leagues in New England.

The Elite 9 is a highly selective premier hockey league in New England. It is comprised of the top youth hockey organizations and players from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Rhode Island.

Competing in the E9 means facing top-tier competition every weekend, pushing athletes to elevate their game, hockey IQ, and consistency against the best programs in the region.

Consistent Practice Structure

The Boston Junior Rangers prioritize structure and predictability to support both athlete development and family schedules.

  • Designated practice days: Mondays & Wednesdays

  • Same practice slot all season

  • A consistent routine that allows players to prepare, recover, and improve week after week

Off-Ice Training That Supports On-Ice Success

Wednesday Off-Ice Training

2018 through 2013 Junior Ranger players participate in weekly off-ice training designed to complement on-ice development. Off-ice training is essential for modern hockey players and helps athletes:

  • Build strength, balance, and coordination

  • Improve speed, agility, and explosiveness

  • Reduce injury risk through proper movement mechanics

  • Develop training habits that support long-term athletic growth

This training prepares players to handle the physical demands of elite competition.

Position-Specific Development

Monday Goalie Skills

Goaltenders receive dedicated, position-specific instruction during Monday sessions, focusing on fundamentals, situational play, and confidence in the crease.

Friday Night Skills Sessions
Friday night skills sessions provide players with additional development time focused on individual skill refinement and hockey IQ. These sessions emphasize:

  • Puck handling and control at speed

  • Shooting mechanics and edge work

  • Small-area games to improve decision-making

  • Creativity, confidence, and compete level

Friday nights give players the opportunity to get extra touches, work on details, and apply skills in game-like situations.

More Than a Team — A Commitment to Development

The Boston Junior Rangers focus on developing complete athletes, both as hockey players and individuals. Our program emphasizes:

  • Strong technical skills and hockey IQ

  • A competitive edge built on effort, discipline, and resilience

  • Leadership, accountability, and team-first habits

  • Confidence that carries from the rink into everyday life

Whether your player is seeking a higher level of competition, preparing for future hockey opportunities, or looking to grow within a structured and challenging environment, the Junior Rangers provide the support, resources, and culture needed to succeed.
