The holiday season is upon us! Here’s what the Rangers were up to in December:

 

Tournament Play:

2016: Waterville Valley Deep Freeze Tournament

The sense of teamwork and bonding that came out of this weekend gives everyone a strong sense of success as they move onto the second half of the season!! Many thanks to the Tournament Director and the Rink/Hotel Staff for a great time had by all!

 

2015: Thanksgiving Showdown Tournament Champs, Top Gun Christmas Tournament, & Stowe Winter Classic Tournament Champs

The 2015s came away as the winners of the Thanksgiving Showdown hosted at Breakaway. After strong performances against the Spartans, Dynamos, and the Ice Dogs they led the division in first place. Clutch goals to tie and take the lead by Sean Carney brought home the hardware! Special shoutouts to Rocco Fallon and Oliver Belmonte for their amazing play in the net and to the defense who helped solidify the win. 

 

The Rangers represented the organization at the Top Gun Christmas Tournament. They brought home multiple big wins against EHF teams including Top Gun (beating them twice!) and the Seacoast Spartans. They moved on to the championship game against a talented Boston Hockey Club team. This team never gave up and battled for 45 minutes. They made the coaching staff very proud and showed how strong of a work ethic they have. 

 

The 2015’s headed north to Stowe, VT to participate in the Stowe Winter Classic. They dominated all weekend, wiping out the competition and coming home with the championship! Solid work all around by the team. Lots of goals were scored, but more importantly, lots of team bonding was had. This team just never gives up. Big thanks to the friendly tournament director and rink staff for the amazing experience.

 

2014: Thanksgiving Showdown Tournament

The Rangers clinched a spot in the tournament finals, but unfortunately lost. Throughout the Tournament, the team played hard and continued to get better. Goalies (Garvey & Bevilacqua) continued their outstanding play while the D (DerAnanian, Thorne, Martel, Wooley, Daddario, Geary) continued to dominate in the defensive end. On the front end, the Rangers had multiple goal scorers throughout the tournament (Reardon, Tremblay, Whitmore, Bibo, Peach, Ciulla, Jaynes) while Jacob Beaudoin, Alex Feola, and Mike Nicoloro played outstanding two-way hockey. Their relentless efforts and heads-up passing set up more than half of the Ranger goals. 

 

2013: Holy Name Invitational 

Great weekend of competition! The highlight game of the weekend was against the Holy Name HC, where the 2013s found themselves trailing 2-0 in the first. Then the team woke up, Lucas Wolcott and Chris Roan scored in the first minute of the second period, followed by two additional goals by Luis Sena and Wyatt Corning in the next five minutes. With a 4-2 lead midway through the second, the host team scored a powerplay goal to cut the lead to one, then with two and half minutes left in the game tied it up. Both teams battled hard with scoring opportunities until the final buzzer. 

 

2012: Arlington Winter Classic Champs

The 12s played in the Arlington Winter Classic. It was a very competitive tournament with the town teams loading up with club players. This group fought hard all week/weekend to bring home the ship! It was a special moment for this group! The 12s are looking forward to the New Year and continuing with this momentum. 

 

League Play:

2011: 

The 2011 team kept their winning streak going and pushed it to 4 games (3-2 W vs Railers & 4-1 W vs Icemen). Solid goal-tending and balanced scoring has been the key to the recent success. Toothaker had the goal of the weekend when he put one between his legs and went top shelf!!!

 

U14: 

Matty Falzarano shut down the Walpole Express and the visiting team did not like the aggressive forechecking of the Rangers. Great 5-1 W!
