February Update
The teams are heading into March in strong standing just in time for playoff hockey!! Read below for some stand-out games from February:
2016: Needing a W against the Jr Bruins to lock up 2nd place in the league, the 16’s started the game flying out of the gate with a 3-0 lead. This early lead would carry the team to a huge 6-4 win. Ben Murphy and Grayson Colbert each scored a pair.
2015: 2015’s competed in the CCM Boston Invite. The 2015’s represent the Boston Junior Rangers organization proudly, playing in a division with all 2014 teams from across the country. They ended the tournament 1-3, but played some tough games and battled hard. All of the team stepped up against teams from Los Angeles, Vermont, and Nashville. This weekend was a great challenge heading into the playoffs. The 2015’s also clinched 1st place!!
2014: The 2014 team started the game against Walpole Express with a very short bench. But that didn’t stop them from going out there and giving their all. The boys knew this was a must-win or tie game for the playoff standings, and we got it done. A team effort that ended in a 4-4 tie.
2013: The 2013s ended the month of February with a two-win weekend! In the first game against the Railers, the boys got it done with a 5-2 W. For the second game against the Winter Club, the team came out strong and never looked back with a 7-1 W!
2012: The 2012’s had a very solid weekend of hockey. The team bested a very strong Jr. Railers team 3-2 on Saturday at home with contributions from every player. On Sunday they headed to Attleboro and extended their win streak by continuing to play a disciplined team game taking another win 4-3.
2011: The 2011 BJR team secured their fourth consecutive victory in February with a strong all-around performance. Solid goaltending from Kennedy and Ferrara kept the opposition at bay, while Louanis, Collins, and Austin found the back of the net. Key assists from Stoddard and Toothaker helped fuel the offensive attack, sealing the 3-1 win vs the Avalanche.
U14: The team ended the first half in 1st place and 3rd place in the 2nd half. Strong 5-1 W against the Railers to lead us into the playoffs. Looking forward to playing the Express on Sunday for the first round.
