January Update
Great start to the New Year for the Rangers! To start the new year, our 2015 team went 6 and 0 at the Holly Jolly Tournament, taking home the Cup against a strong Valley Forge Militia team. Strong play across the board on offense, and standout defense from Beau Shanahan, Bennet Hornok, and Taylor Montgomery.
Jan 13-15 MLK Weekend four of our teams competed in tournaments:
2013: CCM MLK Invatation
2013s played in the CCM MLK Invitation in Foxboro, MA. The first and last games were very close and evenly matched, nail biters until the very end and could have gone either way. In the second and third games, the Rangers competed and were able to keep the games close. Regardless of the outcome, it was a great learning experience for the team and a fun weekend of hockey!
2012: MLK Freeze Tourney
The 12s participated in the MLK Freeze Tourney over the weekend having the majority of their games at Skate 3 in Tygnsboro. The tourney was successful with the 12s making it to the Semi-Finals. The only goal allowed was a breakaway goal where the Union Thunder player crashed into our goalie with the puck ending up in the back of the net. It was unfortunate that was how the opponent scored. From there, we decided to pull the goalie and play with an extra player to try and tie the game up but that was unsuccessful. The team battled all weekend with many of the players having some terrible colds. All of the coaches were proud of the team’s effort, it was a great weekend of hockey for this crew!
2011: MLK Freeze Tourney
2011’s played in the MLK Freeze Tournament over the weekend. The team stayed competitive and learned a lot. The team had a fun day on Saturday at “In The Game”. The team looks to continue their league-winning streak next weekend.
2010: MLK Beach Tournament Tampa Bay FLA
2010’s went down to MLK on the Beach tournament in Tampa Bay. After facing some weaker teams in the primary round, the team had an exciting overtime win against a solid New York team. Ray Willis scored a short handed overtime goal sending the team to the finals. Came up short in the final game but great memories were made. The team had a blast at the Tampa Bay/Anaheim Ducks game and the boys were able to meet Anaheim Ducks Right Winger, Frank Vatrano after the game!!!! What a weekend!
We are looking forward to finishing off Janurary strong! #RollRangers
