November Update
Another month of action-packed hockey for the Boston Junior Rangers! Here’s a quick recap of our team’s performances from November:
2016
The team mounted an impressive game, winning 6-3 against the Jr Icemen. Jacob Romano was outstanding in net, making 18 saves. A competitive battle against the previously unbeaten Jr Railers ended in a hard-fought tie, showcasing solid defense and strong offensive efforts. The Rangers took on the 95 Giants, winning 3-1. Finn Kelly and Kyle Johnson scored key goals. A resilient performance throughout the month, with a team-first mentality keeps the 2016s getting stronger each day.
2015
A strong 5-3 comeback win, against Middlesex Icemen was highlighted by Ralph Lynch’s outstanding performance, which earned him the game puck. The team had a dominating performance against the Winter Club, taking the 8-1 win. Sean Carney netted a hat trick and Christian Reardon contributed with 2 goals. The 2015s had an awesome win versus the Patriots. With solid defensive play and a standout goal by Beau Shanahan, the team secured the 6-1 win. The team won the Thanksgiving Showdown Tournament, and went undefeated the whole weekend, great work!
2014
Explosive offense, along with strong team defense, led to a 4-1 win against the Walpole Express. The 2014s had a fantastic run at the CAN/AM Youth Challenge Cup in Lake Placid, NY. The team faced tough competition, played with great effort, and made amazing memories on and off the ice. The 2014 also played in the Thanksgiving Showdown Tournament and made it to the championship, lots of fun and great hockey throughout the weekend!
2013
The 2013s had a back-and-forth game versus the NH Avalanche that ended in a hard-fought tie. The team exploded offensively in the 12-3 win versus the Winter Club. This game showed true team effort with all players contributing to the score sheet, including Luis Sena’s hat trick.
2012
The 2012s had a strong performance versus the Winter Club, earning a 4-1 win. Dylan McGrath showcased solid team play and great effort, leading him to score his first goal as a Ranger. The team earned a Bronze Medal at the CAN/AM Tournament in Montreal! They were well-represented in the Skills Competition, with standout performances by Derek Chang (Shooter) in the Shootout, Teddy Sullivan (Goalie) in the Shootout. For the Relay Race Makani Mitchell, Davis Montgomery, Jimmy Ferriera, and Max Murphy were outstanding. It was a great bonding weekend for this crew!
2011
The team took on the NH Avalanche winning 5-1. Kennedy’s stellar goalkeeping kept the game tight until the offense found its rhythm. The 2011s had a strong team performance versus the Icemen in a 4-1 win. The stellar goaltending and solid teamwork led to a 3-0 win over the Warriors, with standout performances from Louanis and Stoddard.
U14
The U14 team had an outstanding stretch, securing multiple impressive wins. They dominated the VT Catamounts in both games, winning 4-1 and 6-4, showcasing a fantastic team effort after a long drive up North. The boys continued their strong performance with a 5-2 victory over the RI Saints, described as their best team effort of the season, where they excelled in all phases of the game. The following weekend, they secured two more wins, defeating the RI Saints 5-3 and the Warriors 3-2. The team’s unity and mutual respect were evident throughout, especially when playing with only 11 skaters in a recent match up.
U15
The U15 team had a dominant 8-0 victory over the Thunderbirds, showcasing an impressive offensive and defensive performance. This was a standout win for the team, highlighting their depth and skill. They followed that up with a 3-3 tie against the Railers. The team finished the season with 8 W, 3 L, 1 T, great work boys!
U16
The team played a competitive matchup against the Seahawks, earning a 5-5 tie. The boys were able to play strong defense and capitalize on offensive opportunities. We wish the players the best of luck in their upcoming High School Hockey season!
U18
The team came out on top in a thrilling 5-4 victory over the 95 Giants. Aiden Shanahan set up Tommy O’Neill with just 9 seconds left to secure the win. Cam Dembro led the team with 3 assists, while Shanahan and O’Neill each had a goal and an assist. Connor Keough, Brady Young, and Ryan McElroy each added a goal, and Ryan Anastasio and David Pywell each contributed an assist. The team also had a solid weekend with a 6-0 shutout win over the Americans, where Joey Carpentieri led all scorers with 3 goals and 1 assist. Tommy O’Neill and Aiden Shanahan each added 2 goals and 1 assist, and Logan Nestor contributed 2 assists.
