September Update

First month of hockey ✅. September was full of firsts for the Ranger’s new and returning players. Practices and games began, off-ice and Friday night skills started, and My 360 Mindset was introduced to the players. Most recently the 2016 through 2010 teams had picture day and full-season goalies started goalie skills with Coach Bret on Monday, September 30th.

The organization has tallied 35 wins, 14 losses, and 3 ties throughout the month of September. Our 2016, 2015, and 2013 teams ended the month undefeated, let’s go!!!

Below are some highlights of each team’s season so far!

2016: This past weekend the 2016s went down 0-1 in the first period but rallied back quickly in the second period and never looked back. Nate Savage stood out in a much improved defensive effort and held the Jr Icemen to only two goals and with the assistance of Finn Kelly #37 and his HAT TRICK came out on top with yet another 6-2 win. There were great passes and true team plays that all led to this outstanding team victory. #RollRangersRoll!!

2015: 9/14 Oliver Belmonte and Rocco Fallon earned their first shutout of the season! This past weekend the team had a strong effort all around. Ben Placzek played a fantastic game battling for the duration and Christian Reardon netted a hat trick!

2014: 9/7 was a great debut for the 2014s. Paul Ciulla, Travis Bibo, and Jacob Beaudoin all found the back of the net. Then the boys came together with a great defensive effort. Marco Bevilacqua with a solid performance between the pipes. On 9/29 the 2014s played their best game of the year, avenging a previous loss. Anthony Daddario opened the scoring, then Max Jaynes led the offense with a natural Hat Trick. Jaynes scored his 2nd headfirst, diving into the goal off a Tremblay pass; then snapped off a one-timer in the slot from Bibo & Paul Ciulla, & capped off the hat trick on a nice feed from Jacob Beaudoin who sent Max in alone on a breakaway. The story of the game was team defense. Daddario, Landon Thorne, Jacob Derananian & Luke Provanzano slowed down the Seahawks offense. While goalies, Colin Garvey & Marco Bevilacqua turned away every shot & earned the road shutout. Player of the Game award was given to the goalies, Colin & Marco for their outstanding efforts in the goal.

2013: The 13’s were right back at it 9/8 against a relatively unknown Winter Club team, which gave the Rangers quite the challenge in the first with the score tied 0-0.  That’s when the floodgates opened as the Rangers poured it on with 8 unanswered goals over the next two periods with Luis Sena (2), Owen Brett, Chris Roan, Christian Doyle (2), Joey Morrison, Hunter Thorne all finding the back of the net. The Star of the Games was the team defense, which limited the opponent to 15 shots and helped secure the shutout for new netminder Carter Kaichean.

2012: The 12s headed to RI this past Saturday and secured a hard-fought 2-1 W! The team had a very solid consistent game with numerous chances but the Saints goalie had a strong performance. Goals were scored by Layton DiVirgilio with an unorthodox slap shot from the point that found its way in the back of the net. The second was from a great pass by Brendan Bryne to Makani Mitchell for the goal. Zach Chang played outstanding in goal to help preserve the victory! It was truly an entire team effort all around to secure our first W of the season.

2011: On 9/14 the 2011 team once again had balanced scoring from all three lines, which played a key role in their success. Toothaker led the charge with a hat trick, while Louanis and Austin each netted two goals. The defense remained solid and also contributed offensively, adding to the team’s overall dominance. Finally, St. Onge and Kennedy shared the shut-out in goal. The boys had a great performance at the Jay Peak Tournament going 3 and 1 this past weekend!

U14: The team had a great start to the season with two wins. Well balanced scoring with great goaltending from Landon and Matty. This past weekend with under 10 seconds left in the game, veteran blue liner Cam Leonard scored a top-shelf goal to secure the win!

U15: The U15s are 4 and 1 so far. There is a lot of teamwork on the ice, especially in the past two weekends, the boys closed out the games, winning by one goal in each. They also avenged an early season loss on 9/22 vs the Railers Elite team.

U16: This past weekend the U16s took the game vs the Jr Bruins 7-4. The Soto brothers continue to show up on the score sheet and help get the W for the club.

U18: The team had two dominant wins on 9/21 and 9/22. Keough led the scoring with 4G-1A, along with Yutkins 1G-4A, O’Neill 3G-2A, and McElroy 3G-1A. The team played well and continues to improve.
