September Update

The Boston Junior Rangers kicked off the season with excitement, grit, and strong performances across all age groups. From thrilling wins to hard-fought losses, each team displayed determination and skill, setting the stage for a promising season. Here’s a look at the highlights from the first month.


2017

The 2017 squad started strong with a 7–4 win over Walpole Express before following up with an 8–8 tie in a back-and-forth rematch. Key contributions came from Parker Coyne, Jacob LaPointe, and Logan Heffron in net, providing energy and clutch plays throughout the weekend. The team’s resilience and teamwork were clear, building momentum for the season ahead.

2016

The 2016s opened the season with a 7–5 win over the 95 Giants, bouncing back from an early deficit with a flurry of third-period goals. Despite a doubleheader loss to the Boston Jr. Bruins, the boys showed growth and determination, maintaining intensity throughout both games. Strong individual efforts and team cohesion set a solid foundation for the season.

2015

The 2015s had an excellent start, with wins over the EC Wizards, NH Avalanche Elite, and Worcester Railers. Multiple players contributed offensively, including Hudson Morin, Will Tinkler, and Jasper Shanahan, highlighting the depth of scoring across the roster. Teamwork, hustle, and energy made this group a formidable force and a highlight of the weekend.

2014

The 2014s went 1–1, opening with an 8–0 win over the Warriors before falling to the NE Knights. Standout performers included Paul Ciulla, Michael Nicoloro, and Griffin McGrath, who combined for key goals and assists. Solid goaltending and strong defensive efforts kept the team competitive and ready for the next challenge.

2013

The 2013 team experienced ups and downs, with wins over the Avalanche (4–0) and Winter Club (6–2) balanced against losses to the Patriots and Wizards. Joe Bennett, Matty Cavallo, Owen Brett, and Christian Doyle contributed pivotal goals, showing strong chemistry on the ice. Defensive plays and goalie performances provided stability, keeping the team competitive in every matchup.

2012

The 2012s participated in the Beast Tournament series, finishing the weekend with a 1–1–1 record. Highlights included a 5–3 win over the EC Vikings (NB) and a 1–1 tie with the Patriots, showing defensive discipline and timely scoring. Goaltending by Teddy Sullivan and Ben Garcia, along with gritty play from the D-core, showed the team’s toughness and growth.

2011 (U14)

The U14 squad earned a hard-fought 3–3 tie against Advantage while learning from losses to the Avalanche and other teams. Key contributors included Collins, Stetson, and Diozzi, who drove scoring while strong goaltending anchored the defense. The team is building chemistry and focusing on teamwork as the season progresses.

U15

The U15s showed promise with big wins over Mass Bay Chiefs (4–1) and NE Predators (8–0) despite a couple of narrow losses. Chris Ronan and other scorers led the offense, while strong defensive play kept games competitive. The weekend provided a mix of lessons and confidence-building moments for the squad.

U18 Blue

The U18 Blue team battled through injuries but still captured a 6–1 win over the Jr. Bruins and a 3–2 win against the Walpole Express. Players like Dembro, Keough, and Shanahan made key offensive contributions, while goalie and team defense held strong. Their energy, communication, and teamwork set a solid tone for the early season.

U18 White

The U18 White squad dominated with back-to-back commanding performances: 9–3 over RI Americans and 19–1 over the Saints. Despite being short-handed, the team showed relentless energy, precision passing, and unstoppable commitment from start to finish. This squad is firing on all cylinders and establishing itself as a force to watch this season.
